The Learning and Teaching Model
Every student should be able to walk into a classroom and receive a clear, coherent learning experience, not just if they happen to get the right teacher, the right subject, or the right moment.
This session introduces the Learning and Teaching Model as a practical framework for strengthening lesson design, classroom instruction, assessment, feedback, and support. It helps teachers and leaders build a shared language for what effective learning looks like and how teaching decisions can be aligned more deliberately.
Participants explore how goals, success criteria, assessment, explicit instruction, checking for understanding, feedback, and support work together. The focus is not on adding another program, but on making the core work of teaching clearer, more consistent, and more responsive to student learning.
This is an active session. Participants work with examples, examine planning and teaching decisions, and apply the model to real classroom situations.
Participants leave with:
- A shared language for planning and improving learning
- A practical model for aligning goals, assessment, instruction, feedback, and support
- Clearer ways to discuss teaching decisions in teams
- Next steps for using the model in classrooms, planning, and professional learning
Available as a 3-hour session or full-day workshop.
